Castoro Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Policy explains what information Castoro collects, why it is used, where it is stored, and what choices you have.

2. Who operates Castoro

Castoro is operated by Dmitriy Igorevich Trofimov, an independent developer. He is responsible for personal data handled by Castoro.

3. What information we collect

3.1. Automatically collected information

When you use the App, we collect:

  • Device, installation, and session identifiers
  • Platform, OS version, app version, build number, installer source, language, timezone, User-Agent, and IP address
  • App usage and technical diagnostic events (screen opens, user actions, network state, app lifecycle, errors)
  • Non-sensitive analytics parameters (for example, counts, statuses, settings, export format, error codes, task/version identifiers)
  • Optimization task data sent to the server (panel sizes, workpiece sizes, cutting parameters)

3.2. Service analytics

We use our own service analytics on Castoro servers to understand product usage, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and improve stability. These events may include session ID, event name and time, app version/build/release channel, device class, OS family/version, network and app lifecycle state, language/timezone, installer source, error codes, task/version identifiers, and aggregate usage parameters such as part/sheet counts or export format.

3.3. Information you provide

  • Project data you enter (materials, panels, settings)
  • Workshop profile data you enter or upload (name, logo, phone, email, website, address, and legal or payment details)
  • Feedback messages (when you email us, we receive your address and the message text)

3.4. Information we do NOT collect

  • Precise geolocation
  • Device contacts or photo-library contents, except files you explicitly select to upload as a workshop logo
  • Payment card details (payments are processed by Polar — see 3.5)

3.5. Payments (Castoro Pro)

Polar Software, Inc. sells Castoro Pro and processes the payment as the merchant of record. Polar collects the data needed for payment, such as your email address and payment details. See Polar's Privacy Policy: https://polar.sh/legal/privacy-policy

When creating the checkout page, Castoro sends the request IP address to Polar. It is used to determine country and currency, calculate taxes, and protect the payment against fraud.

We do not receive or store your full payment card details. To operate the subscription, we store provider customer and subscription identifiers, plan, status, paid-until date, and cancellation details linked to your account.

4. How we use information

Collected information is used to:

  • Process optimization tasks and return results
  • Synchronize projects, manage workshops, and generate the PDF reports you request
  • Analyze service usage and improve functionality
  • Ensure stable service operation
  • Diagnose technical issues
  • Respond to support requests

5. Data storage

5.1. Local storage

Limited interface preferences, installation identifiers, and temporary cache may be stored on your device.

5.2. Server storage

Projects, settings, workshop profiles, and logos are stored on Castoro servers while needed to provide the service or until you delete them. Optimization tasks and results are stored for no more than 90 days, after which they are automatically deleted.

5.3. Analytics data

Service analytics and crash/diagnostic events are stored on Castoro infrastructure for up to 365 days.

6. Sharing data with third parties

We do not sell your data.

To operate the service, we use:

  • Infrastructure providers (hosting) who process data only under our instructions
  • Polar to process payments for the Castoro Pro subscription

7. Security

We apply technical protection measures, including HTTPS encryption during data transmission.

8. User rights

You may:

  • Delete local preferences and cache by removing the App or clearing its data in device settings
  • Delete your account and associated Castoro server data through the App; if you have used Castoro Pro, this also immediately cancels active Polar subscriptions and asks Polar to anonymize the customer record. Polar may retain transaction records where required by law
  • Request deletion of server data by emailing support@castoro.pro
  • Request a copy of your data by emailing support@castoro.pro

9. Children

The App is not intended for children under 12 years old. We do not knowingly collect data about children.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy. The current version is published at https://castoro.pro. The last updated date is listed at the beginning of the document.
